Job Purpose

The Revenue Manager is responsible for overseeing and maximising the organisation’s revenue performance. The role involves monitoring income streams, analysing financial and commercial data, identifying opportunities to increase revenue, improving pricing and billing processes, and ensuring that revenue is accurately recorded and collected.

The Revenue Manager will work closely with Finance, Sales, Operations, and senior management to develop effective revenue strategies and ensure the organisation achieves its financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Revenue Management
Develop and implement strategies to maximise revenue and profitability.
Monitor revenue performance against budgets, forecasts, and business targets.
Analyse revenue trends and identify opportunities for growth.
Review pricing, contracts, rates, and commercial arrangements.
Identify revenue leakage and implement measures to minimise financial losses.
Prepare regular revenue performance reports for senior management.
Support the development of annual budgets and revenue forecasts.
Financial & Commercial Analysis
Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends and opportunities.
Monitor key revenue performance indicators and provide recommendations.
Conduct variance analysis between actual and forecast revenue.
Produce management reports and dashboards.
Support business cases and commercial proposals with financial analysis.
Work with management to develop appropriate revenue targets.
Billing & Collections
Ensure revenue is accurately captured, invoiced, and reconciled.
Work closely with Finance teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
Monitor outstanding invoices and support effective debt recovery.
Review customer accounts and identify potential revenue risks.
Ensure contractual billing arrangements are correctly applied.
Assist with the improvement and automation of billing processes.
Pricing & Contract Management
Review existing pricing structures and recommend improvements.
Assess the financial impact of new contracts and commercial agreements.
Monitor contract performance against agreed financial terms.
Identify opportunities for renegotiation or improved commercial returns.
Ensure pricing and revenue policies are consistently applied.
Stakeholder Management
Work closely with Finance, Sales, Operations, Procurement, and senior management.
Provide financial and commercial advice to relevant stakeholders.
Communicate revenue performance and risks clearly to management.
Build strong working relationships with customers and internal teams where required.
Support strategic business planning and commercial decision-making.
Systems & Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve revenue processes and controls.
Support the implementation of revenue management systems and technology.
Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of revenue-related data.
Develop effective reporting procedures and controls.
Promote automation and process efficiency across revenue operations.

Revenue growth against budget and forecast.
Revenue collection and cash conversion.
Reduction in revenue leakage.
Billing accuracy and timeliness.
Forecast accuracy.
Gross margin and profitability performance.
Customer and contract revenue performance.
Improvement in revenue processes and efficiency.
Skills and Competencies
Strong financial and commercial analytical skills.
Excellent numerical and problem-solving ability.
Strong understanding of revenue management principles.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to interpret complex financial and operational information.
Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
Good knowledge of accounting and financial systems.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Commercial awareness and a results-focused approach.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
Proven experience in revenue management, commercial finance, financial analysis, or a similar role.
Experience preparing revenue forecasts, budgets, and management reports.
Experience analysing pricing, contracts, and commercial performance.
Good understanding of financial controls and revenue recognition.
Experience using accounting, ERP, CRM, or revenue management systems is desirable.
Professional finance qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent is desirable.
