Job Purpose
The Recruitment Consultant will be responsible for sourcing, attracting, and placing qualified candidates into temporary, contract, or permanent roles across various sectors in The Gambia. The role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of the local job market, and the ability to match talent to the right opportunities while building long-term relationships with clients and candidates.
Key Responsibilities
Develop a strong understanding of client recruitment needs and business operations.
Source, screen, and interview candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, and referrals.
Match suitable candidates with job vacancies, ensuring cultural and skill fit.
Prepare and submit candidate shortlists to clients and coordinate interviews.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with both clients and candidates.
Manage the end-to-end recruitment process from job brief to offer acceptance.
Maintain accurate records of candidate and client interactions using CRM or ATS systems.
Provide consultation to clients on market conditions, salary trends, and candidate availability.
Work to targets related to placements, revenue generation, and business development.
Promote the employer brand through professional representation and networking.
Requirements
Proven experience as a recruitment consultant, HR officer, or talent acquisition specialist.
Strong knowledge of the Gambian labour market and employment laws.
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with recruitment software and social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Job Boards).
A proactive and target-driven mindset.
